毎年恒例の50W トリップ。目的はシンプルで仲間と共にChopperで目的地を目指し、その道中でスケートやサーフィン、キャンプを楽しむための旅だ。今年の目的地としたMonument Valleyは、かのDavid Mannのイラストや映画、時代を超えた写真でお馴染みで、その非現実的な景色は、南西部を巡るロードトリップの締めくくりとして完璧に思えた─

Into the wilds of southwestern

The annual 50wt trip. The goal is simple. A collective of friends riding choppers to a destination while skating, surfi ng and camping along the way. And this years destination was Monument Valley. A place you’ve seen in old Dave Mann paintings, movies and timeless photographs. The surreal landscape seemed like the perfect ending to a Southwest roadtrip.

モーターシティに根ざすカスタムカルチャーの大祭典

2025年4月13日（日）、ポートメッセ名古屋で開催されたJOINTS 2025。当日はあいにくの雨模様ながら、百花繚乱のモーターサイクル＆カスタムカーが会場を埋め尽くし、1万人のオーディエンスを動員する大盛況となった。この特集では本誌のモットーである“OLD SCHOOL CHOPPERS ONLY”の作法に準じた選りすぐりをクローズアップする。

A massive celebration of custom culture rooted in Japan’s motor city On April 13, 2025, Joints 2025 was held at Port Messe Nagoya. Although it was unfortunately rainy that day, around 10,000 visitors flocked to the event to see the motorcycles and custom cars that packed the venue. For this special feature, we carefully chose two motorcycles from the event whose customization style lives up to this magazine’s “old-school choppers only” motto.

THE PROWL
かつて鉱山町として栄えたBisbeeはAZ州の最南端にあるオールドタウン。メキシコとの国境にほど近いこの街で開催されるPROWLは、“うろつく”や“徘徊”を意味する本邦初公開のモーターサイクルショーだ。猛暑で有名なアリゾナだが、標高1500mを超えるハイランドのBisbeeには寒波が襲来することもあり、事実今季のPROWL前日には雪や雹に見舞われたものの、ショー当日には天候も回復。全米各地から多くのBikerがこの小さな街に集結した。

Bisbee, Arizona, a former mining town in the state’s southernmost region, close to the Mexican border, was the site where The Prowl, a new motorcycle show, was held for the fi rst time. Arizona is well known for its intense heat, but Bisbee is located in the highlands, at an elevation of 1500 m, where it can get cold. In fact, there was snow and hail the day before the show, but the weather cleared up for the event, and the small town was fi lled with bikers from around the country.

Western River is a specialty store in Joetsu, Niigata, and its head, Hiroyuki Nakai, is a well-known motorcycle maniac with the nickname “Mr. Panheadman.” In this feature, we take a close look at a bike that has been his ride for the past 30 years and examine the roots of his life as a chopper jockey.
